Yumi Wilson is the community manager of LinkedIn for Journalists. She teaches news writing, opinion and literary journalism at San Francisco State University where she’s an associate professor of journalism. Formerly a reporter for the Associated Press and the San Francisco Chronicle, she received a Fulbright scholarship to travel to Japan in 2001 and research military marriages, conduct interviews about interracial identities there and, with the help of translators, ask her relatives about her mother’s early life. Yumi holds an MFA in creative nonfiction writing from the University of San Francisco.
