Crystal Johns is CBS News’ Director of Talent Development and Diversity. In that role, she is responsible for sourcing and recruiting talent for CBS News and for the oversight of employee development and mentoring programs. A key component of her job is to develop relationships with special interest and journalist groups to create unique partnerships that will benefit the division. In addition to strategic planning of special events targeting media organizations and various community groups, she is actively involved in the development of special advisory councils for the news division and for CBS Corporation. Prior to this, Johns was a coordinating producer for Allen/Nee Productions, heading projects for CNN Newsource. Before that, she served as special projects manager for WJZ-TV, the CBS owned station in Baltimore.
