Conventional wisdom says you need school and official credentials to be great at your job, knowledgeable in your field and to get ahead. The secret is, that’s not true. Focusing on formal schooling misses the real point. What's important is learning, and you don’t need school for that. A growing movement of independent learners are getting educated and advancing their careers outside of institutions and classrooms. Today's changing culture and new technologies are making this kind of learning increasingly possible and accessible. Kio Stark shares her research on why and how independent learners do it--and how you can too.
